  I was originally scheduled to stay at this Hampton Tuesday - Saturday. I called Monday at 6:00 to change my stay to Wednesday - Saturday. They explained I would still be charged for Tuesday, even though I called 24 hours in advance. I didn’t push it and said ok. Then I very specially asked if my room will still be reserved for me when I arrive on Wednesday. I travel enough to know I need to check to confirm if a no show leads to a reservation being cancelled. She said no, my room will not be cancelled and there won’t be a problem with my Wednesday check in. I would just be charged for a night I didn’t stay. I said okay. On Wednesday I received a check out email asking me if I enjoyed my stay. I called and gave my confirmation # and the central office had no record of my Wednesday - Saturday stay. I explained everything, she stated again I don’t have a room. I started over and asked if I could reserve a room Wednesday - Saturday. She struggled with this also and kept restating I don’t have a room. I would say, I understand. Start over and pretend I just called to schedule a room. She finally got it. I then called the hotel directly and explained that the person I spoke to Monday evening at 6:00 told me there is not a no show concern and my room would be waiting for me on Wednesday when I arrived. This woman shared with me that things are busy, she just got back from vacation and they do have a no show automatic cancellation. I shared her Monday evening employee needs to be educated on the policy. So! This confirms my Marriott commitment. I’m paying for a room for a night I didn’t stay, and gave a 24 hour notice. And thank goodness I called to ask why I received an emailing asking if I enjoyed my stay, 3 hours before I arrived for my stay. I hope the room impresses me because so far, I’m not impressed.
